Why Drainage Matters More Than Most Homeowners Realize
January 21, 2026Why a Driveway Is More Than a Cosmetic Upgrade
January 21, 2026Homeowners often worry about heavy vehicles like work trucks, trailers, or RVs damaging their driveway. In reality, a properly built driveway is designed with weight in mind.
For example, when we work with homeowners who regularly park work trucks or RVs at their home, we adjust the base depth and thickness of asphalt in those areas to handle the extra load.
The base beneath the asphalt is what carries the weight. If that base is too thin or built on unstable soil, surface damage can occur. When excavation and base prep are done correctly, residential driveways can handle everyday vehicle use without issue.
Rather than limiting how a driveway is used, it’s better to make sure it’s built to match the homeowner’s needs.
